Welcome back, friend.
Today we are going to talk about Financial Self-Advocacy.
I had the great pleasure of talking with Lindsay Bryan-Podvin who is a certified financial therapist and founder of Mind Money Balance.
Her work centers on helping her clients and other therapists talk about money in a way that doesn’t make them feel gross.
In our conversation, one particular thing she said stuck out to me, especially as a relatively new therapist.
Here’s what she said:
“It’s so important for us, especially in helping fields, to acknowledge why we feel beholden to give so much of ourselves for so little in return.
Be really curious about who is benefiting from our financial sacrifices.
Be thoughtful about why we are excluding ourselves from the type of justice we are advocating for our clients.”
You can listen to the full hour-long conversation below.
Well, that’s all for today.
Until next time,
– Ben
